Efficiency: Volume 1 Issue 07 - Bill of Materials
The Bill of Materials is a list of all ingredients, from raw material to consumables, processes, everything. It’s the equivalent of a cooking recipe, just a lot more detailed – and most importantly: it must be accurate. Not just the prices, but the measurements.
Start with just one: at home: pick your most common meal, whether it’s Mac ‘n Cheese, Meatloaf, Bolognese – which ever meal you make most frequently. Your ‘go to’ when you’re not in the mood for elaborate cooking. For business: pick your bestselling product.
Trying to capture everything – all recipes, all ingredients, all products, materials, etc. – systematically, is an overwhelming task. Keep it simple, start with something simple. See the results, then decide where to apply yourself next, based on those results.
